Join hosts Jayson Gaddis and Tripp Lanier for a screening of the 2007 Oscar nominated film, Into the Wild. The evening will begin with some words from the hosts, be followed by the screening, and end with an extended discussion. There should be plenty to discuss as the story’s hero, Christopher McCandless, was a fascinating person that showcased some of the brightest and darkest aspects of the masculine quest for freedom. What does modern masculinity bring to the table? What has it left behind? What can wilderness therapy and/or vision questing offer to the men of today?

About Tripp Lanier

Tripp Lanier has achieved success in fields as diverse as business, the arts, and personal development. As an award winning producer, successful business leader, and “integral mens” coach he has helped hundreds of professionals tap more of their innate potential to realize their entrepreneurial and creative visions.

WIE In the political arena, he has helped dozens of leaders clarify and craft their messages and election campaigns. High profile musicians have turned to Tripp for guidance toward realizing their creative visions and finding greater financial success. Tripp is a coach and course facilitator for the Authentic Man Program as well as the host of The New Man Podcast on the Personal Life Media Network. He’s been interviewed by What is Enlightenment? Magazine about the future of men. He serves as Co-Director of Integral University’s Integral Art Center, and lives in Boulder, Colorado where he coaches and consults clients nationwide.

About Jayson Gaddis

Jayson Gaddis, MA, LPC was recently featured in an issue of What is Enlightenment? Magazine on the subject of masculinity and where men are headed. Jayson is a a facilitator for the Authentic Man Program and has been involved in men’s groups and men’s work since 1995. He graduated with a master’s degree from Naropa’s Transpersonal Psychology department in 2005.

In 2001, Jayson founded innernature (www.innernature.org), a company devoted to addressing the need for rites-of-passage experiences in our culture. Since then, he has designed and led over 25 wilderness rites-of-passage trips for three different international fraternities. He is currently designing a year long initiation program for young men and will soon be launching J Gaddis International, challenging men to go further.

Jayson is a certified meditation instructor, gestalt therapist and EMDR therapist. He currently coaches late teens, couples, and adult men and women. His approach draws from gestalt, hakomi, sensorimotor psychotherapy and vajrayana buddhism.

About Into the Wild

Directed by Sean Penn and based off the novel by Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild is the true story of Christopher McCandless. Freshly graduated from college with a promising future ahead of him, McCandless  walked out of his privileged life and into the wild in search of adventure. What happened to him on the way transformed this young wanderer into an enduring symbol for countless people — a fearless risk-taker who wrestled with the precarious balance between man and nature.
