While literally thousands of people around the world have been exposed to the basic SDi theory, few have been engaged in in-depth applications in the real world.
This three-day immersion in Spiral Dynamics will focus on both the theory and specific applications within a myriad of world opportunities, challenges, and problems.
This is your opportunity to experience a full practical immersion in both the theory and its application, to equip you to actually start making a practical difference in the world.
At this event at Boulder Integral, led by Dr. Don Beck, you will:
The primary thrust of this high-energy, fast-paced three-day event will be on the events and change occurring at the large scale – on human groupings in communities, movements, cities, cultures, nations, and bioregions that require an understanding of the basic DNA-like cultures that lurk at their core, as well as the currents which hold these codes in place.
There will be a number of exciting additions to the usual moving SDi experience, and you also get the opportunity to introduce your own projects for feedback from the Spiral Dynamics team of experienced agents.
This event will also include an “Evening with Memetic Movies” (along with soft drinks and popcorn) with Ben Levi, a familiar face in Boulder and veteran SDi practitioner. He will illustrate the richness of the values system codes and currents through the use of movie scenes and situations. You will also be exposed to a number of assessment systems within the new Memetic Mirrors exercise and research packages. (This will include participation in the popular onlinePeopleSCAN technology.)
There are no qualifications to attend this new learning experience from the Spiral Dynamics World. Even if you have not yet attended a Spiral Dynamics event or seminar before, we will teach you quickly, so you can benefit along with veterans. We will send out pre-workshop readings and video links to help get you prepared. All we request are bright people with a curiosity for learning, a passion for impacting the world, and an open mind. You will benefit from more than 35 years of experiences in both theory and practice, led by Dr. Don Beck and his colleagues from around the world. Also, don’t forget, much of this workshop will be shaped in part by the specific interests and inquiries of the participants: “What you always wanted to know about Spiral Dynamics but were afraid to ask.”
So, bring your full self! Come to Boulder and Dance the Integral with us. This will be a weekend you won’t soon forget.
(Fees do not include meals. Light snacks will be provided. There are many great restaurants just a hop across the street.)

Who is Dr. Don Beck?
Don Beck has been developing, implementing, and teaching the evolutionary theory of Spiral Dynamics for more than three decades. Beck has elaborated upon the work of his mentor, Clare Graves, to develop a multidimensional model for understanding the evolutionary transformation of human values and cultures. As cofounder of the National Values Center in Denton, Texas, and CEO of the Spiral Dynamics Group, Inc., Beck is employing the Spiral Dynamics model to effect large-scale systems change in and among various sectors and societies of the world. He is the author of Spiral Dynamics: Mastering Values, Leadership & Change, written with Christopher Cowan in 1996.
Beck’s long consulting career has taken him to such diverse settings as 10 Downing Street to consult with Tony Blair’s Policy Unit; the south side of Chicago to address the problems faced by inner-city schools; the World Bank to consider the future of Afghanistan; and the boardrooms of major banks, energy companies, airlines, and government agencies. In his 63 trips to South Africa between 1981 and 1988, he had significant impact on political leaders, the business sector, religious leadership, and the general public in order to help bring about the peaceful transition from apartheid to democracy. Out of his experiences there, Beck wrote The Crucible: Forging South Africa’s Future (1991) with Graham Linscott.
Before his work in South Africa, Beck taught for twenty years at the University of North Texas. There he was named Outstanding Professor in 1978, named Honor Professor in 1979, and listed as an “Outstanding Educator in America” in 1980. Beck has also been the team psychologist for The South African Springboks, winners of the 1995 Rugby World Cup, and has been associated with the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, the Texas Rangers (baseball), and the U.S. Olympic Committee for Men’s Track and Field. He writes a “sports values” column for the Dallas Morning News. He makes his home in Denton, Texas.

As some of you already know, this weekend, Boulder Integral is hosting Spiral Dynamics in Action, 2009, with Dr. Don Beck and other special guests, who will share their stories of how they have and continue to apply Spiral Dynamics in several global areas of conflict. One of these guests is Colonel Fred T. Krawchuk, who was active in the Southeastern Asia trouble spots (Philippines, Indonesia), with great knowledge of the lay of these lands. He also played a role in “the surge” in Iraq to integrate the various elements, using insight from Spiral Dynamics.
This is the only time that we are opening this event to those who are not registered for the full weekend. It will be a valuable learning experience for those who are truly concerned about our world and examining the many ways we can help it heal.

One of Fred’s passions is bringing together diverse voices in order to find common ground and align collective action to holistically address complex international relations issues with wisdom and compassion.

Presentation on Benefits of Integral Coaching by Huy Lam & Nomali Perera
Sunday, 3/15, 10am – 12pm
$10 (Members Free)

With the economic upheaval, political regime change and potential environmental crisis, one thing is clear: We are living in a time of great change and uncertainty. This systemic change has many implications on our personal lives, and can bring up all types of emotions. Some days we may feel a sense of hope and optimism for what might be possible. On other days, we may feel a sense of anxiety and stress from not knowing how to respond to these changes or how things beyond our control might affect us.
With so many unknown variables in our lives, we may be thinking and feeling:
And even when we do act, we may wonder if it’s enough or it it’s taking us in the direction we need to be heading…
With so much going on around (and within) us, there can be a tendency for feeling stuck or second-guessing ourselves. The reality, however, is that we still need to live our lives and make choices every day. This means that our decisions need to be aligned with what we really want, and we need to be even more effective at acting on them. Ironically, it is during these times, when we need it the most, that we can often lose the motivation to do the things we know are good for us.
So, what is the best investment during times of uncertainty?
Yes! It is an investment in yourself! Maybe it’s time to explore how to gift yourself with the guidance and support you need to navigate these uncertain times. After all, times of great challenge are also times of great opportunity. This presentation is about how Integral Coaching can bring clarity to whatever challenge you are facing, and show you the opportunity that is available to you right now. The opportunity to bring forth even more of who you really are and to create the life you want.
Of course, this invitation is not only for those who are affected by the current economic crisis. You could be someone who is experiencing other difficulties in your life. You are welcome too! No matter what your particular topic of interest is, an Integral Coach can help you to turn your inspiration into actual transformation.
This presentation, by Huy Lam and Nomali Perera, recent graduates of Integral Coaching Canada™, is an invitation to come learn more about how this powerful change methodology can serve you at this moment in your life. So friends, if you’re feeling that pull to step into what’s next for you or could use a little inspiration, please come join us. Let’s get a little bit personal, touch even just a little bit of our edge, to ponder a little deeper about fearlessly engaging these times of uncertainty and have some fun together. Let’s see if there is a way to give the gift of growth to ourselves.
