Are you inspired by a great idea, project or personal calling? Are you frustrated by distractions and lower priorities that keep slowing you down? If so, consider attending a five-day boot camp at The Boulder Integral Center, designed to usher you into your next stage of effectiveness — using your own work as your object of practice!

“The whole idea is to help you achieve the dream of your life.” An interview with Integral Incubator leader, Jeff Salzman

“We want to enact our higher selves into the world, as a contribution, as a gift, and as a play.”

“If you are holding more than one perspective, what is good about both rises to the top. That is where wisdom actually arises.”

“For five days we will do practices around getting traction on your project, your dream.”

“At the Incubator you will choose from several heightened workspaces — contemplative, productive, and social — designed to inspire the specific work results you’re after.”

“It’s a chance for folks to run their ideas by Ken Wilber. That in itself is invaluable.”

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND THE INTEGRAL INCUBATOR

To claim your next stage of development and career success

One of the key markers of integral consciousness is that we are able to take an evolutionary view. We begin to see ourselves as an evolving beings in an evolving world. This single insight changes everything.

First of all it, enables us to relax a bit, because we can see that in addition to living our lives, we are being lived by a larger Life. We feel ourselves riding streams of history that appear to be going somewhere ever-more awake and powerful. Second, as we realize ourselves to be evolving beings, we can begin to ask very interesting questions such as: what’s next in my own personal evolution? In my career? In my relationships? In the evolution of the world at large, and my role in its evolution?

Evolution denotes transformational growth. In other words, we see that there are not just new things to know but new ways of knowing. That there are not just new things to do but new ways of doing. And that these new ways of thinking and acting multiply our effectiveness. This is our starting point at the Integral Incubator, and each part of the 5-day process is designed to help participants realize and stabilize their next stage of development, especially as it relates to their work.

To more fully realize your destiny

As we realize our ability to co-create with the the power of emergence itself, we naturally turn our attention to achieving our unique destiny. That may sound a little grandiose, but it is quite literally true, and as evolutionaries we feel it deeply. That’s why so many integralists seem like they’re on a mission from God. Because they see — and feel — that they quite literally are.

But there is another side to it, as well. At integral consciousness we also see that although we are human beings gifted with great vision and calling, we are also works in progress, and that, paradoxically, a lot of the road forward involves realizing how, to use a beautiful religious term, broken we are. Not in the sense that something is wrong with us, but that there are indeed parts of ourselves that are appalling: our selfishness, our grudges, our suffering, the seven deadly sins and more. But now we begin to see that this is the way it should be, and that part of our job as evolutionaries is to bring our dark aspects into the light. We see that by being friendly with them we have a chance at metabolizing them into health and creativity, kind of like a fusion reactor, which lights us up and powers us to do what we are undeniably here to do.

To be with your peeps and peers

It has always been true, as humanity has evolved, that people at the edge of development seek out other pioneers. One of the great benefits of the Integral Incubator is that we get to hang out with other people who get us, who vibrate to the same chords, who see the new territories we see, and who want to explore them with us.

This has very practical and positive consequences. When we are seen and known more deeply by other people, we are able to better see and know ourselves. We have easier access to new dimensions of our own creativity and passion, we find strength we didn’t know we had, and we able to act in the world with greater skill and confidence.

A big part of the Integral Incubator is creating we-spaces among the participants and relationships that support each person’s growth. We will do this both in free-form café settings, but also in large- and small-group processes, as well as group meditation and movement practices. People who have attended events with other Integralists often note a higher level of group functioning that is unparalleled outside integral circles. As one of Boulder Integral’s member wrote about a salon we held recently, “I experience magic when conversing with people about integral ideas.” So, yes, one of the greatest payoffs of attending the Incubator is that we get to be with our tribe, and that is a terrific end in itself.

A chance to work with Ken Wilber, the world’s leading integral theorist

Ken’s public appearances are few and far between, which makes it all the more precious have our group be able to spend an afternoon with him. Ken is not just an historically significant philosopher, he is an accomplished businessperson and, having founded several of the most enduring organization of the integral age, including Integral Institute, Integral Naked and Integral Life. He has great practical skills as well as theoretical insight, and will share them with us in person.

TYPICAL DAILY EVENTS

Each day is different at the Integral Incubator, but here is the general plan we will follow:

Transformational practices to boost your vertical growth

Meditation: Think of meditation as the calisthenics of building the muscles of attention. The ability to focus and direct one’s attention is key to our effectiveness in manifesting tangible results in the world. It helps us to stay focused on our work, which is key to entering flow, that place where genius is accessed and we become our most powerful selves.

Movement and energy work: We will work with various integrations of dance, energy practices such as chi-gong, and free movement. The goal is to get in deeper touch with the various energies of your mind and body, and express them into the world with vibrancy, beauty and skill.

Physical Exercise: We encourage and make time for physical exercise at the Incubator.  There is an exercise session each morning at the Incubator.  Depending on your project and according your needs, you may also enjoy outdoor activities.  The North Boulder Park is close by, as are the hiking trails of the foothills. Our center is also very close to the North Boulder Recreation Center where there is a swimming pool, weight room, etc of international standard.

Planning and power-building sessions help you stay on track

Are you laying a brick, building a wall, or constructing a cathedral? At integral consciousness you are doing all three, and to the degree that you maintain contact with each, the more powerful your are in the world and the more joy you receive from your work. At the Integral Incubator, you will have ample time to contemplate and plan your day for maximum productivity and impact.

Focused work periods where you make real progress on your project

For several periods each day, participants will enter their choice of heightened work spaces to work on the project that they have brought.

  • Workspace #1 is contemplative, permitting no talking or technology beyond a pad and pen.
  • Workspace #2 is akin to an open office, with desks, computers and functional talking. This is the place to power through projects, email, web-work, etc.
  • Workspapce #3 is our salon, with more of a coffee shop feel featuring comfy furniture, a fireplace and a bar. This space welcomes conversation and connection.
  • Also available are conference rooms for meetings, and several private spaces for phone calls and conversations.

Private coaching and consulting for help with specific issues

Participants may also dedicate specific periods of the day to working with an array of integral experts on staff here at Boulder Integral, on issues from business planning to personal growth and health. We also have body and energy therapists available for private sessions.

Group work, for camaraderie and support

You will check in with colleagues throughout the day, both in small groups and in the group at large. This is an important chance to share your achievements and challenges, get feedback and state your intentions for moving forward.

Practice in self-expression and communication, to help you influence people and manifest your dream

A crucial element of success is the ability to communicate your ideas quickly and on-demand. At the Integral Incubator

we will work with you on accessing your unique voice, and communicating your vision in a way that magnetizes people and creates the support you need to achieve your dreams. Think Toastmasters on steroids.

INTEGRAL HAPPENINGS IN RUSSIA – Meet the OM-MD team from Moscow

Monday, July 20th – 7pm
Suggested donation; $10. ($5 for members)

OM-MD is an organization that is working to create an environment for positive human development based on the integral approach. The two main directions of work are: Development of children (“World of Childhood”) and the Development of adults (“Open World”)

Child Development Initiative

OM-MD in the past few years has adopted as a core principle, an integral approach towards facilitating the development of children. This includes creating children and family centers that provide services in entertainment, education, goods, and leisure-time activities.

As of today the Center is the leading-edge (and the only) center of its kind in Moscow. Since its foundation it has reached with 30,000 visitors per month attending various offerings. Since 2007, the OM company has begun publishing a series of books for children, several of which are recurrently at the top of bestseller lists for children’s books. A significant and strategic initiative has been the formation of the Institute of Contemporary Childhood whose aims include: Integrative research in Child Development, training of specialists in the sphere of childhood and building capability for supporting contemporary childhood. As of today the holding company is in the process of transforming its trademarks into brands using the AQAL Integral Model. Therefore, we were able to create and sustain a developmental play & game environment in which through maximal contact with our target audience we can facilitate the process of development of the target audience, tailored to the levels of their consciousness by using Ken Wilber’s integral model.

At this point the company is in the process of intensive preparation to create a network of centers inside Russia with the prospect of further expansion into the international market. In the near future, their plans include publishing the first magazine for children, magazine for adults, a web-portal for children and a children’s cartoon studio. We perceive the company’s role in Russia as that of a company that would shape the culture of the newly emerging Russian middle class. Precisely because we already have a research center, a cultural center, and a system for the production and sale of goods production as well as a viable business organization, we have entered into a phase of in-depth dialogue with the government and various social organizations on possible expansion and adoption of our model.

Adult Development Initiative

In 2003, “Open World” – OM (Otkritiy Mir), a community center was founded, and is situated right next to Mir Detstva Children Center (MD) in the Center of Moscow. Starting out as a space for seminars in transpersonal psychology, OM was reconceptualized as an integral center that includes seminars in body practices, tai chi and qigong groups, aikido, wu-shu, various yoga approaches, SPA massage, meditation classes, gestalt therapy groups, individual psychotherapy, and various personal growth trainings. Six thousand people attend the center per month. Currently the center provides space for various seminars and trainings; and world-renowned teachers and masters from different schools are regularly invited to offer their teachings. The OM Center also has the Laboratory of Events. Its function is to organize various events, celebrations, and other kinds of cultural services. The center is growing and in preparation to expand.

One of the most important features of the OM Center is that it serves as a spiritual center where various spiritual lineages practice in one building. Similar to the Integral Spiritual Center in Denver, we hope thereby to foster an integrative dialogue among different spiritual traditions.

Thus, the various activities of the OM Center embrace projects in integral spirituality, integral business, integral psychology, integral health, and integral culture. The integral culture aspect plays a very important role in the life of the OM Center and includes a community space at the tearoom, cultural gatherings, performance of various artists and musicians, and art exhibitions. There’s also a theatrical laboratory that organizes and trains people in amateur acting, improvisational theater, plays, and performances. Moreover, the OM Center functions as a supportive environment for the emerging integral community. The Moscow Integral Salon holds its meetings and presents integral knowledge by providing space for seminars, integrally related topics and approaches.

The media division is currently represented by the OM Publisher, a publishing house that publishes books on spirituality (especially, Buddhism), psychology, and integral theory and practice. The intent is to publish more integral literature: Grace & Grit has already been published, and in the works are the translated publications: Integral Vision, Integral Spirituality, Boomeritis, Genpo’s Roshi’s Big Mind – Big Heart (these are the books the rights for which have already acquired).

Thursday Night Members’ Salon

Do you have specific integral topics that interest you?  Do you want to engage in dialogues on the application and embodiment of Integral Theory?  How can we move towards Integral theory truly serving self and other?

This is an opportunity to get together for deep and interesting conversations on all things integral. Much gratitude to those who participated in the first couple that we held.

Boulder Integral is experimenting in the best format for holding a monthly Integral Salon with the sole purpose of creating a space for deep and interesting dialogue on integral topics. So far we have used the Conversation Cafe format enhanced with the Open Space rules.

The next one we are going to swing the pendulum toward an augmented version of Open Space. So, instead of providing one topic, we ask that you come to the salon with your own topic of interest. We will go around the big circle where you introduce yourself and your topic of interest.  We will then dive deep into a little chaos as people collect around the topics they are most interested in discussing. These small self-organized groups will then gather in comfy spots around Boulder Integral and hold their intimate dialogues. We will close the evening with a brief sharing of the topic that was discussed and anything interesting that came out of those conversations.

So, please come. discuss what you are jazzed about in the integral worldspace.

These events are hosted by Jeff Salzman and Christine Brautigam. We are going to hold 3 more and see how they go. Dates and times are as follows:

May 21st, June 18th, July 16th at 7pm (doors open at 6:30pm)

If you feel moved, please bring snacks or drinks to share.

If this is a beneficial and well-attended membership event, we will continue to hold them on a regular basis. You are welcome to contact Christine at ChristineB@directdynamics.biz if you have additional ideas and recommendations.

Thanks and we look forward to sharing with you and learning from you.

Typically, Jeff will do some pontificating and we have a great discussion.  It’s easy and casual, but do not be afraid to bring your most pressing issues!

PLEASE NOTE: It is difficult to say in advance what might be the topic of discussion for each Tuesday, as Jeff really does keep up with the most current news and will speak about what’s hot around that time.  He will speak about the past, present and future in the context of that topic.

Thank you!

Here’s your chance to get up close and personal with the leading integral philosopher of our time, Ken Wilber (representing Integral Life).  We are deeply honored and excited about Ken selecting Boulder Integral to make his first public appearance for a Q & A in Boulder in over four years!  We hope very much that you, your friends and family will join us at this great event.

We’re especially honored to welcome our dear fried Ken to Boulder Integral; many of us here have worked closely with him, and know the warm heart beneath his amazing mind.   Ken is a sparkling communicator, and a beautiful vehicle for his breakthrough worldview.   Most famous of his work, the AQAL Maps, provides a comprehensive view of the nature of reality by integrating all of human wisdom — eastern and western, ancient and contemporary, scientific and spiritual — into simple, powerful maps.  Ken will share some of his latest thinking on spirituality,  psychology, and current events, as well as  answer questions about his work and life.  Don’t miss this very rare chance to see Ken in person.

Do you have a question for Ken Wilber?  Send your question to nomali@boulderintegral.org.  We will pass this on to Ken and try and accommodate as many questions as possible.  We ask for your forgiveness in advance if your question does not get picked among the many that we are receiving.

At this event, we will explore:

  • Integral Consciousness: the beauty, goodness and truth of emerging realities
  • Integral Spirituality and Integral Life Practice
  • Science and Religion: Is there a marriage?
  • Application of Integral Theory to leadership, education, psychotherapy, politics, spirituality and more…
  • What is “AQAL?”
