Are you inspired by a great idea, project or personal calling? Are you frustrated by distractions and lower priorities that keep slowing you down? If so, consider attending a five-day boot camp at The Boulder Integral Center, designed to usher you into your next stage of effectiveness — using your own work as your object of practice!

“The whole idea is to help you achieve the dream of your life.” An interview with Integral Incubator leader, Jeff Salzman

“We want to enact our higher selves into the world, as a contribution, as a gift, and as a play.”

“If you are holding more than one perspective, what is good about both rises to the top. That is where wisdom actually arises.”

“For five days we will do practices around getting traction on your project, your dream.”

“At the Incubator you will choose from several heightened workspaces — contemplative, productive, and social — designed to inspire the specific work results you’re after.”

“It’s a chance for folks to run their ideas by Ken Wilber. That in itself is invaluable.”

HOW IS THE INTEGRAL INCUBATOR STRUCTURED?

At the Integral Incubator you will join with a group of 20 or so high-achieving evolutionaries in an intentional container that will help you function at your new best. The Incubator is designed as a potent combination of:

  • Transformational practices to build your focus, creativity, energy and personal power
  • Group experiences to help you get insight and support from others
  • A variety of intensified work spaces and practices that help you achieve peak performance consistently and on-demand

Do not think of this as time away from your work. This is a journey into your work (bring your laptop, phone, etc.!) You will spend several hours per day focused on the project(s) you have brought. You will be accompanied by a team of people who can see you, appreciate you and support you. You will leave having gained real traction on the most important work of your life, whether it be:

  • Your new business venture
  • Your work as a teacher, consultant or coach
  • Your screenplay, book or art
  • Your service project
  • Your everyday performance in your current job or career

The overall goal is to help you stabilize higher stages of functioning that will light up all aspects of your life. The Integral Incubator is also perfect for partners and teams, see below for details.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND THE INTEGRAL INCUBATOR

To claim your next stage of development and career success

One of the key markers of integral consciousness is that we are able to take an evolutionary view. We begin to see ourselves as an evolving beings in an evolving world. This single insight changes everything.

First of all it, enables us to relax a bit, because we can see that in addition to living our lives, we are being lived by a larger Life. We feel ourselves riding streams of history that appear to be going somewhere ever-more awake and powerful. Second, as we realize ourselves to be evolving beings, we can begin to ask very interesting questions such as: what’s next in my own personal evolution? In my career? In my relationships? In the evolution of the world at large, and my role in its evolution?

Evolution denotes transformational growth. In other words, we see that there are not just new things to know but new ways of knowing. That there are not just new things to do but new ways of doing. And that these new ways of thinking and acting multiply our effectiveness. This is our starting point at the Integral Incubator, and each part of the 5-day process is designed to help participants realize and stabilize their next stage of development, especially as it relates to their work.

To more fully realize your destiny

As we realize our ability to co-create with the the power of emergence itself, we naturally turn our attention to achieving our unique destiny. That may sound a little grandiose, but it is quite literally true, and as evolutionaries we feel it deeply. That’s why so many integralists seem like they’re on a mission from God. Because they see — and feel — that they quite literally are.

But there is another side to it, as well. At integral consciousness we also see that although we are human beings gifted with great vision and calling, we are also works in progress, and that, paradoxically, a lot of the road forward involves realizing how, to use a beautiful religious term, broken we are. Not in the sense that something is wrong with us, but that there are indeed parts of ourselves that are appalling: our selfishness, our grudges, our suffering, the seven deadly sins and more. But now we begin to see that this is the way it should be, and that part of our job as evolutionaries is to bring our dark aspects into the light. We see that by being friendly with them we have a chance at metabolizing them into health and creativity, kind of like a fusion reactor, which lights us up and powers us to do what we are undeniably here to do.

To be with your peeps and peers

It has always been true, as humanity has evolved, that people at the edge of development seek out other pioneers. One of the great benefits of the Integral Incubator is that we get to hang out with other people who get us, who vibrate to the same chords, who see the new territories we see, and who want to explore them with us.

This has very practical and positive consequences. When we are seen and known more deeply by other people, we are able to better see and know ourselves. We have easier access to new dimensions of our own creativity and passion, we find strength we didn’t know we had, and we able to act in the world with greater skill and confidence.

A big part of the Integral Incubator is creating we-spaces among the participants and relationships that support each person’s growth. We will do this both in free-form café settings, but also in large- and small-group processes, as well as group meditation and movement practices. People who have attended events with other Integralists often note a higher level of group functioning that is unparalleled outside integral circles. As one of Boulder Integral’s member wrote about a salon we held recently, “I experience magic when conversing with people about integral ideas.” So, yes, one of the greatest payoffs of attending the Incubator is that we get to be with our tribe, and that is a terrific end in itself.

A chance to work with Ken Wilber, the world’s leading integral theorist

Ken’s public appearances are few and far between, which makes it all the more precious have our group be able to spend an afternoon with him. Ken is not just an historically significant philosopher, he is an accomplished businessperson and, having founded several of the most enduring organization of the integral age, including Integral Institute, Integral Naked and Integral Life. He has great practical skills as well as theoretical insight, and will share them with us in person.

TYPICAL DAILY EVENTS

Each day is different at the Integral Incubator, but here is the general plan we will follow:

Transformational practices to boost your vertical growth

Meditation: Think of meditation as the calisthenics of building the muscles of attention. The ability to focus and direct one’s attention is key to our effectiveness in manifesting tangible results in the world. It helps us to stay focused on our work, which is key to entering flow, that place where genius is accessed and we become our most powerful selves.

Movement and energy work: We will work with various integrations of dance, energy practices such as chi-gong, and free movement. The goal is to get in deeper touch with the various energies of your mind and body, and express them into the world with vibrancy, beauty and skill.

Physical Exercise: We encourage and make time for physical exercise at the Incubator. You can choose a workout in our well-equipped gym, which features Vectra weight equipment, aerobic machines and other workout equipment. Or a yoga session in our beautiful chapel. Or, if you want outdoor activities, North Boulder Park is close by, as are the hiking trails of the foothills. Or all of the above!

Planning and power-building sessions help you stay on track

Are you laying a brick, building a wall, or constructing a cathedral? At integral consciousness you are doing all three, and to the degree that you maintain contact with each, the more powerful your are in the world and the more joy you receive from your work. At the Integral Incubator, you will have ample time to contemplate and plan your day for maximum productivity and impact.

Focused work periods where you make real progress on your project

For several periods each day, participants will enter their choice of heightened work spaces to work on the project that they have brought.

  • Workspace #1 is contemplative, permitting no talking or technology beyond a pad and pen.
  • Workspace #2 is akin to an open office, with desks, computers and functional talking. This is the place to power through projects, email, web-work, etc.
  • Workspapce #3 is our salon, with more of a coffee shop feel featuring comfy furniture, a fireplace and a bar. This space welcomes conversation and connection.
  • Also available are conference rooms for meetings, and several private spaces for phone calls and conversations.

Private coaching and consulting for help with specific issues

Participants may also dedicate specific periods of the day to working with an array of integral experts on staff here at Boulder Integral, on issues from business planning to personal growth and health. We also have body and energy therapists available for private sessions.

Group work, for camaraderie and support

You will check in with colleagues throughout the day, both in small groups and in the group at large. This is an important chance to share your achievements and challenges, get feedback and state your intentions for moving forward.

Practice in self-expression and communication, to help you influence people and manifest your dream

A crucial element of success is the ability to communicate your ideas quickly and on-demand. At the Integral Incubator

we will work with you on accessing your unique voice, and communicating your vision in a way that magnetizes people and creates the support you need to achieve your dreams. Think Toastmasters on steroids.

Hi Jeff, I was just thinking about you and hoping that life is going well for you. My better half (Patty) and I will be going to Denver this spring and was wondering if it would be alright to stop by and say Hi? Take care of yourself,
    Your Cousin, Ray
  • Beena Sharma
Hey Jeff and the team - I want to congratulate you on the very appealing intent, concept, platform and description of the incubator. I took the time to read it through, and it was compelling! I want to sign up right away :-) I've marked the dates in my calendar, and client related travels permitting, I am looking forward to joining you and the group sometime in the coming year. Wishing you great movement and joy in this Incubator for incubators...
  • Raquel Torrent
    Dear Nomali, Jeff and Ken:
I would love to attend this incubator course. The only thing that keeps me from it, as always, with many of the interesting things your propose is the money, cause of travel expenses, accomodation and meals, without counting the money I won't receive during those days from patients. Therefore, would it be possible to have a little finantial help ???. You know, something like a schollarship or so?. Thanks a lot for the answer and lovely the great ideas you have for the Centre. I wish I could open one like that in Madrid ¡¡¡.
  • jjwarner
SINCE I CAN NOT ATTEND, I WOULD BE ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN PURCHASING A FEW OF THE MOST WELL-ACCLAIMED SESSIONS FOR THE WEEK, SAY THE BEST 5 SESSIONS?
THIS WILL HELP ME WITH PERSONAL GROWTH AND UNDOUBTLY HELP ME SAVE FOR THE NEXT EVENT.
WHEN IS THE NEXT EVENT, SO I CAN START SAVING NOW????
  • jeffsalzman
    Hi JJ,

The next Integral Incubator will be sometime around the end of February or the beginning of March, 2010. We are just nailing down the date now. If you wish to email me at jeff@boulderintegral.org, I will be sure to let you know when we know. Thanks for the enthusiasm!
  • deborahjackson
Kudos on this offering especially for Integralists. Since it is cost prohibitive to me at the moment it serves to validate a ramping up of a self-sought integral incubator in my own milieu to help hone my skills in bringing my 2 exploratory plans to fruition: 1) Facilitating a coming together of integral/holistic consciousness individuals in small groups across the United States to acknowledge and empower each other in recreating one's essential self while supporting efforts in making the world a better place. So far the structure is a cross between The Elders (group of integral/holistic thinkers), The Rotary Club (local, scalable groups focused on service) and EnlightenNext Discovery Cycle (global participants coming together to evolve (inner) consciousness is (outer) culture. This concept is local, scalable, and reputable, . It's a way to bring the human capital of higher consciousness into the mainstream societal fold in order to 1)support the ongoing personal development of its participants and 2) to serve/evolve society in meaningful ways by activating this group’s best and highest use. It's a way to the solutions our communities need. It's Emergence. Love and Laughter....
  • jeffsalzman
Sounds like a great project, Deborah. I wish you the best with it, and keep us posted .
  • Name
I am aware of the value of a Spiritual community where we help each other with our Spiritual practices. Why not expand this to a type of community where we help each other fulfill our dreams in the relative World?
    Stan
  • jeffsalzman
Hi Stan, it may be that this turns into a larger on-going community. We are currently working on creating a virtual follow-up for the first cohort of Incubatees. Stay tuned ...
