Thank you!

Here’s your chance to get up close and personal with the leading integral philosopher of our time, Ken Wilber (representing Integral Life).  We are deeply honored and excited about Ken selecting Boulder Integral to make his first public appearance for a Q & A in Boulder in over four years!  We hope very much that you, your friends and family will join us at this great event.

We’re especially honored to welcome our dear fried Ken to Boulder Integral; many of us here have worked closely with him, and know the warm heart beneath his amazing mind.   Ken is a sparkling communicator, and a beautiful vehicle for his breakthrough worldview.   Most famous of his work, the AQAL Maps, provides a comprehensive view of the nature of reality by integrating all of human wisdom — eastern and western, ancient and contemporary, scientific and spiritual — into simple, powerful maps.  Ken will share some of his latest thinking on spirituality,  psychology, and current events, as well as  answer questions about his work and life.  Don’t miss this very rare chance to see Ken in person.

Do you have a question for Ken Wilber?  Send your question to nomali@boulderintegral.org.  We will pass this on to Ken and try and accommodate as many questions as possible.  We ask for your forgiveness in advance if your question does not get picked among the many that we are receiving.

At this event, we will explore:

  • Integral Consciousness: the beauty, goodness and truth of emerging realities
  • Integral Spirituality and Integral Life Practice
  • Science and Religion: Is there a marriage?
  • Application of Integral Theory to leadership, education, psychotherapy, politics, spirituality and more…
  • What is “AQAL?”

“Ken Wilber is one of the most important pioneers in the field of consciousness in this century.  I regard him as my mentor.  He is a source of inspiration and insight to all of us.  Read everything he writes—it will change your life.”-Deepak Chopra

“Wilber’s ‘integral vision’ offers readers the opportunity to make valuable connections among disparate disciplines and-just maybe-to prepare themselves for a brave new world.”-Publishers Weekly

“A soaring tour de force and daring exposition by one of America’s most inventive thinkers. Don’t quit the search for an integral culture until you have given it a whirl-and take this book with you as a sturdy guide.”-Professor Harvey Cox, Harvard Divinity School

“Ken Wilber is one of the most creative spiritual thinkers alive today.  Like a masterful conductor, he brings everyone in, finds room for science and spirit, and creates music for the soul.”-Rabbi Michael Lerner, author of The Politics of Meaning

“Nobody is integrating the sciences and spiritual knowledge with Wilber’s scope and integrative power.”   -Michael Murphy, cofounder Esalen, author The Future of the Body and Golf in the Kingdom

About Ken
Ken Wilber is the most widely translated academic writer in America, with 25 books translated into some 30 foreign languages, and is the first philosopher-psychologist to have his Collected Works published while still alive. Wilber is an internationally acknowledged leader and the preeminent scholar of the Integral stage of human development, which continues to gather momentum around the world. His many books, all of which are still in print, can be found at Amazon.com. Some of his more popular books include Integral Spirituality; No Boundary; Grace and Grit; Sex, Ecology, Spirituality; and the “everything” books: A Brief History of Everything (one of his largest selling books) and A Theory of Everything (probably the shortest introduction to his work).  Ken Wilber is the founder of Integral Institute, Inc., the co-founder of Integral Life, Inc., and the Senior Fellow of Integral Life Spiritual Center.

UNLOCKING YOUR INTEGRAL PERSPECTIVE: A 3-hour seminar with Jeff Salzman (followed by Stuart Davis: Sex, God, Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert. Attend either or both. Have dinner and a walk during the break before the concert in our beautiful Boulder neighborhood)

Do you feel called to live a higher, juicier life? Integral is not just a level of consciousness, it is a new worldspace of insight, connection and effectiveness. Come to Boulder Integral and find out how you can bring the power of integral functioning into your life.

One of the gifts of integral functioning is that we are able to forge a radical new connection to our own destiny. As we see more deeply into the patterns of the kosmos we see more deeply into ourselves. We see our gifts more clearly and become more keenly aware of what quickens our heart. This in turn releases a yearning — indeed an imperative — to enact our unique contribution into the world.

We hope you can join this event, led by Boulder Integral co-founder, Jeff Salzman. Stay for the Stuart Davis show and party afterwards!  This will be a great opportunity for you to meet with others who are also in town for the weekend workshop at Hotel Westin.

TOPICS

  • Perspective-taking: the new path of liberation
  • Intersubjective enlightenment: practices for developing relationships that call forth the best of everyone
  • Partnering with Emergence: how to get real traction on the projects of your life

Friday, August 28, 2009 – 7 pm – 9 pm
SEX, GOD, ROCK n’ ROLL: Live show and party, with Stuart Davis
$10 (pay at the door)

Boulder’s very own integral rockstar Stuart Davis has made a genre-busting career of delving into difficult subjects as a Writer-Director-Actor-Comedian-Songwriter-Zen Practitioner and Integral Spiritualist. With his trademark synergy of sacred and profane punchlines, Stu will take you through a circus of sexuality, spirituality, and showbiz. In Stu’s Universe horny is holy, funny is profound, and Love has no opposite. Davis twists mind, body, & spirit into a hot menage ‘e trois. It’s no wonder he’s long been known as the Twisted Mystic.

“Razor sharp improv. Lurking amid the minutiae of his observations on life and the Universe are some startling insights. Davis pulls off the most elusive of party tricks… Even the gods were grinning.”
-Irish Times, Dublin Ireland

This Month’s Theme: EMBODIMENT & PLAY!

Join us for a night dedicated to breaking through the barriers of our ‘social masks’ and self-imposed restrictions as we PLAYFULLY explore and practice meeting each other through revealing our authentic, embodied expression.

August 29th’s theme is Embodiment & Play: We’ll be exploring the art of meeting and honoring others -as they playfully choose to express themselves. You will also practice allowing yourself to be seen and met through embodied play. Having fun with the layers of the ‘social masks’ and self-imposed restrictions we don consciously and unconsciously. We’ll be diving in to play and expression to see how honestly and adventurously we can share ourselves in the moment, with the person right in front of you.

About Game Nights:

Game Night provides a safe place to take risks and play a little more outside the box in a way that allows you to discover more of yourself and other. Games are like ice breakers with an edge. It’s a fun way for people to get to know one another and create community. Even if you’ve known each other for years, this is an opportunity to share and be seen in new ways. The best part is this is for singles AND couples of any sexual orientation. Meet others who are into exploring new forms of relating or meet your current partner in a new way.

These nights are worth their weight in gold; they’re way better than a movie and popcorn!

Date & Time: Saturday August 29th, 6:00*-9:00pm. We’ll go as far as we can in 2.5 hours. *Registration and social mixing begins at 6:00..Please be ready to start at 6:30 Sharp!

Cost: $20 per person (Discount to $30 per couple if you bring a date or a friend!!)
